Quest'opera è dedicata a Chiara G.

Max Mondini's digital works are visual activators, a powerful and expressive form of communication released from the desire to determine an initial thought. They are works that, emptied of any cultural reference, trigger emotions and reactions in the viewer, but without indicating a direction: unknowingly they show something that is already known.
Inspired by the visual power of the canvases of the great Venetian masters, the work created during the month of residence at in-edita, evokes the atmosphere of Venice at the end of the 18th century when, after the fall of the Serenissima, the celebrations of the historic Carnival were held exclusively inside the buildings. Like a sad lady with smudged makeup at the end of the evening, Venice continues to experience the splendor it had when it has already lost everything. A fiction, like all this collapsed structure, designed to seem accidental but which instead reveals a careful remodeling of the folds and details to increase the aesthetic sense, between emotions induced by the false and those that, in reality, we mask for cowardice.
<< Sometimes in art we find truths, even when we weren't looking for them >>.
